8 common misconceptions about mulberry silk duvets

1 The thicker the duvet, the warmer it is
Mulberry silk quilts are not as warm as they are thick; if they are too heavy, they don’t fit well. Can you imagine what a giant pillow would feel like to cover your body, and would it be warm? We often have customers who want to make a 6kg mulberry silk quilt; in fact, such a thick silk quilt is wasted money, and not breathable, not fit, not fluffy, the actual warmth effect is not as good as a 3kg mulberry silk quilt.

2 The better the fabric of the inner cover, the more comfortable it is
The better the cover, the higher the density, not easy to drill silk, not easy to pilling, beautiful and upscale. But a good cover is heavy and relatively more unbreathable, especially for a two-in-one quilt, and a 220*240cm cotton jacquard liner cover weighs nearly 1.5kg. The choice of fabric is double-edged. Gauze fabric is softer, more breathable, snug and lighter, but prone to drilling and pilling and not upscale in appearance.

3 Mulberry silk duvets should not be aired.
Our mulberry silk quilts are often aired, and it has been proven that silk quilts that are often aired in the sun are healthier, warmer, and more durable, but they should also be avoided in the burning sun for long periods.

4 Silk made from spring silkworm cocoons is better.
Spring cocoons have a slightly higher silk yield, and the silk quality is not much different from other seasons. This claim is suspected of being over-marketed.

5 The sour smell of mulberry silk duvets is toxic.
The sourness of mulberry silk is generally acetic acid, used to neutralize the pH, put too much silk will have the smell of acetic acid, not toxic, blended white vinegar is a glacial acetic acid solution.

6 Cheap silk duvets must be uncomfortable.
Indeed, cheaper silk is not as comfortable as quality silk, but after all, it is all actual silk quilts, and there is still a great comfort experience compared to cotton quilts or other quilts.

7 Fake, poor silk duvets have formaldehyde and other toxic substances.
Fake silk is mainly made of chemical fiber and wood wool to pretend to be silk for filling; fake silk quilt is nothing but chemical fiber quilt or wood wool quilt; chemical fiber and wood wool are non-toxic. Poor silk is also silk, and silk production is the most natural and healthy, non-toxic and non-harmful.

8 Mulberry silk bleaching is harmful to health.

White clothes, trousers, shoes, hats, and socks are bleached. Why is it that only silk bleached is harmful to the body? Bleaching and degreasing are carried out at the same time. Businesses who claim that bleached silk is harmful are suspected of taking yellow-spotted cocoon silk or tussah silk for concept hype. Yellow-spotted cocoon silk and sericulture silk are also bleached; they can not be bleached white. Pure and natural do not make equally yellow; yellow has nothing to do with being pure and natural. You can’t make silk with just water.
